Azerbaijan Restoring Territorial Integrity, Retaking Strategic Zangilan District
The Azerbaijani army has liberated dozens of villages along the River Araz as well as the city of Zangilan,President Aliyev said in a televised speech.
The district has been freed after 27-year occupation of the Armenian troops, the president said, pledging to put an end to the occupation of the lands.
The army also reportedly liberated six villages in Fuzuli, seven villages in Cabrayil, five villages in Khojavand and six villages in Zangilan from Armenia's occupation.
The clashes over Armenian-occupied Nagorno-Karabakh that erupted on September 27 have left more than 800 dead by Armenia, according to official tolls, but the real number as Azerbaijan said might be much higher.
Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to a new humanitarian cease-fire on 18 October but it was violated by the Armenian army.
